Day 13 – Cleaning up the motors

Painted some more parts for the transmission tonight, but mainly worked on cleaning up the motors.

Ian tackled cleaning the monster drive motor while I continued my fight with the squirrel cage. I was soon to be victorious.

We also attempted to take apart the monster drive motor… Trying to figure out why its jamming. Seems to be something in the very end bearing.

Lock ring out... didn't seem to do anything

Took the bolts off, jarred a bit, but wouldn't come apart.

Next up, getting it apart completely and painting both motors with engine enamel to make them look nice. Going to the machine shop tomorrow to hopefully finish the flywheel adapter!
