Day 32 – Cleaning and the sound system

It’s reading week and we should be getting a lot of stuff done. Unfortunately we’re still on the hunt for batteries, so nothing we do will be putting the Del Sol closer to the road…

Another problem productivity faces is my imminent surgery… My wisdom teeth (all four) are coming out tomorrow morning at 8:30AM sharp. So I’ll be pretty out of it… I’ll do my best to be back on my feet working on the car ASAP but I don’t know if that will happen.

We started by stripping the interior plastic to see how much room we had behind the seats… here are some pictures:

Also found a hole to the gas tank – lots of room down there for batteries, we’ll make a nice mount for everything. On the other hand, it’d be a great place to keep the oil and tire spikes to drop… We just watched Death Race last night. Mario Kart on steroids basically…

In the process of cleaning we removed the center console... lot of garbage under it.

The Del Sol didn’t come with a stock radio for some reason, so we’re conserving dash space for controls, and using a car amplifier with an iPod input for our sound system.

Oh yeah. It's purple.

The plastic interior WILL fit back over top, but the rugged steel frame of the car does look pretty cool…

Still have to clean out the interior more, but we’ve got lots of stuff left to do. Anyways, time to get some sleep before I lose my wisdom… teeth. Well maybe both.
